Danish energy company

How do we create an active and vibrant center for the company's many different employees, which both gives the employees energy and contributes to increased productivity through more social meetings and better collaboration?

This is the task we are being asked by one of Denmark's largest energy companies. The company has developed a new workplace concept that will now have a physical life in a pilot project at the company's head office.

We tackle the central point of the location, namely the large 3-storey building which, among other things, contains the canteen. We propose to turn the building into a meeting hub to activate the dead, expensive square meters to a much greater extent than today. The meeting hub must form the basis for both formal and informal meetings between 'white collar' and 'blue collar' employees and form the framework for social events and daily social meetings. Increasing social meetings is the best way to improve collaboration and increase productivity.

5 ROOM TYPES AND A STAY CASE

Based on the desire for improved collaboration and increased productivity, we develop 5 room types that can be implemented at the head office but can also be advantageously located and implemented at the company's other international locations. The large Stay Case has a central function at the head office as a meeting place for the employees. At the same time, it provides a better opportunity for circulation in the building, as it facilitates access between the floors and down to the café and improves the acoustics in the large former canteen room.

The result of the pilot project is an improvement in the cohesion of the company and thereby increased productivity as well as an optimized use of expensive square metres.
