Joint lab

Fælledby will be Copenhagen's new district close to nature and the city.

Together with a number of partners, we have developed Fælledlab, which is built on the last building site in the district. FælledLab is a construction laboratory that contains a project office, real estate agent and visitor center. Among other things, the building shows mock-ups of the sustainable facade materials that are being tested and researched, and all toilets and kitchens must be reused in the finished residential building.

In the construction and furnishing, a large amount of materials from the hostel, which was previously located on the site, have been reused. So as Troldtekt ceilings, steel beams and wooden beams as some of the constructive elements.

Many doors in the building are also from the former hostel, as are all internal window frames. The recycled doors and windows needed a loving hand, and have therefore been renovated and painted so that their lifespan has been extended.

Later in the construction process, the wooden facade cladding from the hostel is used for sheds around the district.

We have worked with colors and contrasts in materials to highlight the various elements and make it inspiring and inviting to visit the building. The result is an inspiring Gesamt exhibition of both sustainable furniture, building methods and building materials that can be experienced in every corner of the building.

Fælledby is expected to be completed in 2031. Read more about Fælledlab and the rest of Fælledbyen HERE.
