4 day work week

Every Friday off, extended weekend, more time for family and leisure interests, and more profit without losing salary. It almost sounds too good to be true, but nevertheless it is the norm for several Danish companies.

These are companies such as the design and furniture company UMAGE, the IT companies IIH Nordic and Abtion and many more. The implementation of a 4-day working week is not a new initiative. Research in the area has been going on for several years, and although the positive effects are many, there are still only a few who practice this way of working. Because can you really spend less time working, get an extra day off, get the same salary - all while achieving better results?

An expert in the implementation of a 4-day working week is Pernille Garde Abildgaard, who has written three books in the area, including "Burn the hamster wheel - Guide to a happy working life". She has also helped more than 20 Danish companies with this transformation. Abildgaard is behind the movement TAKE BACK TIME, whose mission is to break the hamster wheel, create happier employees and healthy companies. With simple techniques, with a shorter working week, according to Pernille Garde Abildgaard, you can work "smarter, faster and more productively". In addition, a shorter working week can have positive effects such as reducing the climate footprint and reducing stress. By working smarter, you can achieve higher productivity in less time, which ultimately allows us to use our most precious resource (time) - as we want.

Would you like to know more about the results of introducing a shorter working week?
